We are looking for a Cloud Security Engineer to support secure cloud initiatives for an organization in the Energy and Natural Resources sector in Oakville, Ontario. This Long-term Contract opportunity is suited to a hands-on specialist who can strengthen cloud security posture while contributing to platform design, automation, and operational reliability. The role blends technical delivery with governance, requiring close partnership across engineering, infrastructure, and business teams to build and maintain resilient cloud environments.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Design and improve secure cloud architecture patterns that align with operational needs, compliance expectations, and platform scalability goals.<br>• Implement and manage cloud security controls across infrastructure, applications, and services to reduce risk and strengthen governance.<br>• Administer identity and access strategies by refining permissions, access models, and authentication practices across cloud environments.<br>• Build and maintain infrastructure automation using configuration management and infrastructure-as-code approaches to promote consistency and efficiency.<br>• Embed security practices into deployment pipelines and engineering workflows to support DevSecOps delivery and application protection.<br>• Support containerized and Kubernetes-based platforms by applying security standards, monitoring controls, and platform hardening measures.<br>• Troubleshoot cloud networking, connectivity, and server-related issues while helping maintain stable and secure service performance.<br>• Collaborate with technical stakeholders using tools such as Jira to plan work, track progress, and resolve security and platform concerns.<br>• Provide technical guidance during deployments, platform enhancements, and ongoing operational support within cloud-hosted environments.

<p>• Strong hands-on experience securing cloud environments, with particular depth in Microsoft Azure.</p><p>• Solid understanding of identity and access management principles, including role design, authentication, and privileged access control.</p><p>• Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.</p><p>• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and the integration of security controls into deployment and engineering processes.</p><p>• Understanding of cloud networking concepts, secure connectivity, and troubleshooting in distributed environments.</p><p>• Ability to work collaboratively across technical teams while contributing practical solutions to architecture, implementation, and support challenges</p>
