IT Security Specialist
We are looking for an experienced IT Security Specialist to join our team in North York, Ontario. As part of our long-term contract offering, you will play a key role in enhancing cybersecurity measures and maintaining the integrity of our digital environment. This position is ideal for candidates passionate about safeguarding systems, identifying vulnerabilities, and responding to security threats effectively.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Conduct thorough threat intelligence analyses to identify potential risks and develop proactive security strategies.<br>• Respond to security incidents swiftly, ensuring proper investigation, documentation, and remediation.<br>• Manage vulnerability assessments and implement measures to mitigate risks across the organization.<br>• Develop and refine security processes to align with industry best practices and organizational needs.<br>• Promote cybersecurity awareness by delivering training sessions and educational materials to employees.<br>• Collaborate with the security team to support the implementation of the cybersecurity roadmap.<br>• Configure and maintain firewall technologies, including Checkpoint and Cisco ASA, to ensure robust network protection.<br>• Troubleshoot and resolve network security issues using advanced tools such as SIEM and Mitre ATT& CK.<br>• Monitor intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS) to maintain a secure IT infrastructure.<br>• Assist in quality assurance and configuration management activities to uphold system security standards.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in cybersecurity or IT security roles.<br>• Proficiency in working with Checkpoint and Cisco ASA firewall technologies.<br>• Strong knowledge of SIEM tools and Mitre ATT& CK framework.<br>• Demonstrated experience with cloud security and related technologies.<br>• Familiarity with intrusion detection systems (IDS) and intrusion prevention systems (IPS).<br>• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex security issues effectively.<br>• Understanding of cybersecurity governance and awareness programs.<br>• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate across teams.
