Sr. Accountant
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Lutes Mountain, New Brunswick. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to lead critical accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and have a passion for developing efficient processes, we encourage you to apply.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.<br>• Develop and manage comprehensive monthly account reconciliation procedures across the balance sheet.<br>• Supervise all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, cash management, and intercompany transactions.<br>• Implement strategies to improve departmental workflows and optimize accounting processes.<br>• Prepare and present financial overviews during monthly business reviews, ensuring accountability and transparency.<br>• Establish and maintain strong internal controls, ensuring compliance and proper documentation.<br>• Coordinate and support internal and external audit activities, serving as the primary audit leader.<br>• Collaborate with leadership teams to develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.<br>• Assist in the creation and implementation of policies, procedures, and objectives related to financial management and accounting.<br>• Participate in special projects and assignments to drive organizational success.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.<br>• Minimum of five to seven years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, ideally within a manufacturing setting.<br>• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to apply accounting standards effectively.<br>• Proven expertise in account reconciliation, balance sheet analysis, and financial reporting.<br>• Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel functions and familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks.<br>• Exceptional communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.<br>• Ability to operate in ambiguous environments and develop robust processes from the ground up.<br>• Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and ethical behaviour in all aspects of work.
