Legal Assistant
<p>We are looking for an experienced<strong> Legal Assistant</strong> to join our client's team on a <strong>2-4 weeks project work in Edmonton, Alberta.</strong> In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting complex litigation processes, working closely with legal professionals and team members to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of legal documentation and responses. This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively. </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong>: </p><p>• Review and analyze a 400-page transcript to identify 200 plus undertakings and compile responses. </p><p>• Draft, organize, and manage legal documentation related to litigation proceedings. </p><p>• Communicate effectively with legal teams and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for case preparation. </p><p>• Maintain confidentiality and ensure all sensitive information is handled securely. </p><p>• Liaise with various team members and external contacts to facilitate the completion of undertakings. </p><p>• Utilize case management and legal software to track deadlines and manage documentation. </p><p>• Provide comprehensive project support to streamline the litigation process. </p><p>• Manage schedules and calendars to ensure timely progression of case-related tasks. </p><p>• Work independently while demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving. </p><p>• Collaborate with team members to ensure accuracy and consistency in legal responses.</p><p><br></p>
<p>• MUST have proven experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal, particularly in litigation support. </p><p>• Proficiency in legal software such as Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, case management tools and Microsoft Office. </p><p>• Strong understanding of litigation processes, including pleadings and legal documentation. </p><p>• Exceptional organizational written and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. </p><p>• Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment. </p><p>• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with legal teams and external stakeholders. </p><p>• High level of discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times. </p><p>• Familiarity with tools such as CompuLaw, ACRIS, and document scanning and photocopying.</p>
