Health and Safety Officer

Our client, a leader in the greenhouse and horticulture sector, is seeking a Health & Safety Officer to join their team and drive a culture of safety excellence across their operations.</p><p><br></p><p>Key Responsibilities:</p><p><br></p><ul><li>Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies, programs, and procedures in compliance with WorkSafeBC and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and audits to ensure safe work practices, particularly around electrical systems and equipment.</li><li>Provide training and coaching to staff on safe operating procedures, emergency preparedness, and hazard awareness.</li><li>Investigate incidents and near-misses, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.</li><li>Collaborate with leadership and operations teams to integrate safety into daily business practices.</li><li>Maintain documentation, reporting, and recordkeeping related to compliance and safety initiatives.</li></ul>
