<p><strong>THE ROLE:</strong></p><p>We’re seeking an Accountant, Energy Marketing for a long-term (12 months +) contract. In this role, you’ll support the Supervisor, Energy Marketing, by ensuring accurate and compliant accounting for energy marketing transactions. You’ll handle month-end close activities, prepare journal entries and accruals, assist with financial reviews, and lead process improvement initiatives within the Finance team.</p><p><em>Responsibilities include:</em></p><ul><li>Manage month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reports</li><li>Ensure compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, SOX, and internal accounting standards</li><li>Review and analyze financial results for accuracy and completeness</li><li>Prepare financial statements, management reports, and reporting packages (FRAPs) for leadership</li><li>Provide audit support by compiling documentation and responding to inquiries</li><li>Drive process improvements and support automation initiatives to enhance efficiency</li><li>Stay informed on IFRS updates, regulatory changes, and industry best practices</li></ul><p><strong>ABOUT YOU:</strong></p><p>You’re a detail-oriented finance professional with strong technical skills and a passion for continuous improvement. <p><strong>YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum 3 + years of progressive experience in full-cycle accounting and finance, including both operational and corporate accounting</li><li>Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) or currently pursuing certification</li><li>Strong proficiency in accounting systems; experience with SAP is highly preferred</li><li>Solid understanding of IFRS, SOX, and accounting standards applicable to medium and large public companies</li><li>Advanced Excel capabilities, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, SUMIF, and Power Pivot</li><li>Familiarity with Allegro and S4 Hana implementation considered a strong asset</li><li>Industry experience in energy or utilities is advantageous</li><li>Exceptional analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills with keen attention to detail</li><li>Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and commitment to continuous improvement</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline</li></ul><p>If you are available immediately with the requirements listed above, click the “Apply Now!” link.
