They are looking to recruit a NAV/Business Central Developer on a permanent basis - supporting their investment in business systems modernisation in 2026. <br /><br /></p><p><strong>Job Purpose:<br /><br /></strong>We are seeking support for the migration of multiple on-premises and cloud installations of Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Business Central (BC) into a unified BC Cloud solution as part of a global upgrade initiative.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>A strong understanding of software architecture and programming concepts</li><li>Ability to analyse and interpreting user requirements to technical specifications and designing solutions</li><li>Design and develop custom AL extensions, including pages, reports, and code units, to meet business needs</li><li>Build and support integrations between NAV, Business Central and other applications using APIs, web services (REST, OData) and data exchange frameworks</li><li>Upgrade legacy NAV systems to Business Central, ensuring minimal disruption and improved functionality</li><li>Troubleshoot functional and technical issues, identifying root causes and delivering effective solutions</li><li>Optimise performance and ensure code quality through testing, peer reviews and best practice development</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>Strong communication skills and ability to manage client expectations effectively</li><li>Logical problem solver with great attention to detail</li></ul><p><strong>Skills &amp; Competencies:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience providing 2nd and 3rd line support for Dynamics 365 Business Central and legacy NAV systems</li><li>Strong hands-on development experience with Dynamics NAV and Business Central (AL and C/AL)</li><li>Excellent understanding of BC functionality across finance, sales, purchasing, inventory and warehousing</li><li>Deep understanding of NAV and Business Central's architecture, including tables, pages, and data structure</li><li>Proficiency in programming languages</li><li>Experience with APIs, web services, and integrating Business Central with other platforms</li><li>Familiarity with development tools like Visual Studio Code and version control systems such as Git</li><li>Keep up to date with the latest BC features, tools and development practices</li></ul><p><strong>Salary/Logistics:</strong></p><ul><li>Circa £55,000-£65,000 DOE</li><li>Hybrid working: 2/3 days on site</li><li>Monday to Friday : 8.00am to 4.00pm</li><li>Half an hour lunch</li><li>5 hours per week</li></ul><p>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
