<p><strong>Data Engineer (Azure, Snowflake, DBT) | Insurance | London (Hybrid)</strong></p><p>Robert Half International (an S&amp;P 500 global staffing provider) is supporting a global consulting firm in sourcing an experienced <strong>Data Engineer</strong> to join a major <strong>insurance client</strong> engagement.The role focuses on building out a <strong>Snowflake Data Warehouse</strong> established last year and scaling it to support multiple new data use cases across the business.</p><p><strong>Assignment Details</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Initial Duration:</strong> 6-12 months (until March 2026, likely extension given scope)</li><li><strong>Location:</strong> Hybrid - minimum of <strong>2 days per week in London</strong></li><li><strong>Day Rate:</strong> £450 <strong>PAYE</strong> (plus 12.07% holiday pay - PAYE with employer's NI &amp; Tax deducted at source, unlike umbrella companies and no umbrella company admin fees)</li><li><strong>Start Date:</strong> Immediate / End of June</li></ul><p><strong>Role Overview</strong></p><p>You'll be working within a growing data engineering function, focused on scaling a <strong>Snowflake + DBT</strong> platform to support multiple analytical and operational use cases. The team is looking for an experienced engineer with strong technical depth and an insurance background, capable of owning and extending core pipelines across the Azure and Snowflake stack.</p><p><strong>Key Skills &amp; Experience</strong></p><ul><li>Strong hands-on experience with <strong>Snowflake Cloud Data Warehouse</strong> (schemas, RBAC, performance tuning, ELT best practices).</li><li>Proven commercial experience with <strong>DBT</strong> for modular data modelling, testing, documentation, and CI/CD integration.</li><li>Skilled in <strong>Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Databricks</strong> for end-to-end data pipeline orchestration.</li><li>Excellent SQL engineering capability; experience designing data models for analytics and operational reporting.</li><li>Proven track record in the <strong>insurance or wider financial services sector</strong>, ideally with large dataset experience.</li><li>Experience working in collaborative agile teams with CI/CD via Azure DevOps.</li></ul><p><strong>Nice to Have</strong></p><ul><li>Python scripting for ELT automation.</li><li>Exposure to Power BI or similar downstream analytics.</li><li>Experience building data products across multiple data domains.</li></ul><p><strong>All candidates must complete standard screening (Right to Work, DBS, credit/sanctions, employment verification).</strong></p><p><strong>This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Azure + Snowflake Data Engineer to join a high-performing team and help scale a modern data warehouse for one of the UK's leading insurance organisations.</strong></p><p>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
