<p>Our client is looking for a skilled Financial Analyst to join their team in Ottawa, Ontario. The ideal candidate will play a key role in analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and ensuring accurate revenue recognition. This position requires an individual with strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a commitment to improving financial processes.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Review draft financial statements, conduct detailed analysis, and prepare month-end journal entries and reconciliations.</p><p>• Evaluate project performance through earned value assessments and provide recommendations.</p><p>• Identify financial risks within projects to ensure proper revenue recognition and highlight issues.</p><p>• Analyze contracts to identify clauses that may affect revenue reporting and compliance.</p><p>• Develop and refine financial policies to enhance planning and analysis operations.</p><p>• Work closely with internal and external auditors to support internal controls and external audit requirements.</p><p>• Assist in creating financial forecasts and preparing annual operating capital budgets.</p><p>• Conduct variance analysis to support short- and long-term financial performance improvements.</p><p>• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting support to team members and subcontractor financial teams.</p><p>• Contribute to the preparation of operating budgets and perform other duties as assigned.</p>
