Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting to lead technical accounting, financial reporting, consolidations, audit activities, and internal controls across a complex, multi-entity organization. This leadership role is ideal for a CPA with deep accounting expertise, strong business acumen, and a passion for building and developing high-performing teams.What You'll Be Responsible For Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting<ul><li>Lead the preparation and review of complex accounting transactions, including revenue recognition, inventory, fixed assets, financing arrangements, and equity-related activities.</li><li>Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.</li><li>Perform technical accounting research and provide guidance on the application of ASPE standards.</li><li>Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and best practices that support consistent financial reporting.</li></ul>Consolidations & Corporate Accounting<ul><li>Manage multi-entity consolidations, including elimination entries and reporting across various business units.</li><li>Oversee intercompany accounting and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.</li><li>Partner with operational stakeholders to support accurate financial reporting and business decision-making.</li></ul>Controls & Process Improvement<ul><li>Review complex balance sheet reconciliations and ensure adherence to internal control requirements.</li><li>Evaluate and strengthen financial controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate risk and improve reporting accuracy.</li><li>Maintain supporting documentation, process maps, and control frameworks.</li></ul>Audit, Compliance & Tax Support<ul><li>Lead the annual external audit process and serve as the primary liaison for auditors.</li><li>Ensure compliance with indirect tax requirements, including GST/HST/QST reporting.</li><li>Support the preparation and documentation of SR& ED claims and other compliance-related initiatives.</li></ul>Leadership & Team Development<ul><li>Provide coaching, mentorship, and day-to-day leadership to members of the accounting team.</li><li>Lead recruitment, performance management, and employee development activities.</li><li>Foster a collaborative, accountable, and continuous improvement-focused culture within Finance.</li><li>Identify training and development opportunities that enhance team effectiveness and support organizational goals.</li></ul>Business Partnership & Special Projects<ul><li>Collaborate with Finance and operational leaders to improve processes, increase efficiencies, and support strategic initiatives.</li><li>Participate in special projects and other finance-related initiatives as required.</li></ul>
