Controller & HR Manager – North America 📍 Mississauga, ON | Our client is seeking a hands-on Controller & HR Manager to lead the finance, control, and HR functions across its Canadian and U.S. operations. This is a highly visible leadership position offering broad exposure to cross-border finance, US GAAP reporting, and full controller-level responsibilities within a growing international organization.Reporting to senior leadership, the successful candidate will oversee all accounting, financial reporting, compliance, internal controls, and HR activities across North America, while managing a small finance team and partnering closely with operational leaders to drive business performance. What You'll Be Responsible For Financial Leadership & Controller Functions<ul><li>Own the full accounting cycle and financial reporting process for both Canadian and U.S. entities</li><li>Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to the global parent company</li><li>Maintain a robust internal control environment and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements</li><li>Apply and maintain strong knowledge of US GAAP and Canadian accounting standards within a multi-entity environment</li><li>Manage external audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance across both countries</li><li>Oversee cash flow, working capital, and treasury activities</li><li>Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes and provide meaningful financial analysis to support decision-making</li><li>Drive process improvements and strengthen financial controls as the business continues to grow</li></ul>Cross-Border Finance Oversight<ul><li>Manage financial operations across both Canada and the United States</li><li>Navigate the complexities of a cross-border, multi-entity structure, ensuring consistency in reporting, controls, and compliance</li><li>Partner with leadership teams on both sides of the border to support operational and strategic initiatives</li><li>Ensure alignment with corporate accounting policies and reporting requirements</li></ul>Team Leadership<ul><li>Lead and mentor Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable team members</li><li>Develop scalable processes and improve overall finance department efficiency</li><li>Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement</li></ul>HR Leadership<ul><li>Oversee HR operations for Canadian and U.S. employees</li><li>Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding</li><li>Ensure compliance with employment legislation and workplace regulations in both jurisdictions</li><li>Coordinate payroll, benefits administration, and HR policies</li><li>Partner with management to support employee relations and talent initiatives</li></ul>
