<p>Our client is seeking an experienced <strong>Project Manager / Director, Facilities Capital Projects</strong> to provide leadership during a transitional period within their Facilities department. This individual will oversee a portfolio of capital construction and renovation projects while ensuring projects continue to progress on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with organizational priorities.</p><p>This is a highly visible leadership role that requires someone with a strong background in facilities capital projects, building systems, contractor management, and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will work closely with consultants, architects, contractors, and internal leadership while managing a team responsible for delivering multiple projects across a large institutional portfolio.</p><p><br></p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Manage projects from planning through completion, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, construction, commissioning, and close-out.</li><li>Coordinate consultants, architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.</li><li>Monitor project progress, budgets, risks, change orders, invoicing, and contract administration.</li><li>Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation to ensure alignment with project objectives and organizational standards.</li><li>Oversee commercial renovations, capital renewal initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, roof replacements, and building improvement projects.</li><li>Work closely with internal stakeholders to minimize operational disruptions while maintaining project timelines.</li><li>Facilitate project meetings, provide status updates, and resolve issues throughout the project lifecycle.</li><li>Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, health and safety regulations, and organizational policies.</li><li>Support ongoing improvements to facilities while maintaining strong relationships with vendors and external partners.</li></ul>

<p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Building Sciences, Project Management, or a related discipline.</li><li>7+ years of experience managing facilities capital projects, construction, or infrastructure projects within complex environments.</li><li>Experience leading large-scale commercial renovation or institutional capital projects.</li><li>Strong understanding of project management methodologies, procurement, contract administration, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.</li><li>Experience managing consultants, contractors, architects, engineers, and multiple internal stakeholders.</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.</li><li>Experience working within post-secondary, healthcare, municipal, government, or other large institutional environments is considered a strong asset.</li><li>PMP, P.Eng., or other relevant professional designation is considered an asset.</li></ul><p>Must-Haves</p><ul><li>Extensive experience managing <strong>facilities capital construction and renovation projects</strong>.</li><li>Strong knowledge of <strong>building systems</strong>, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building infrastructure.</li><li>Experience overseeing commercial renovation and infrastructure improvement projects.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while balancing budgets, schedules, and competing priorities.</li><li>Strong leadership experience managing project teams, consultants, contractors, and vendors.</li><li>Proven experience with procurement, contract management, invoicing, and project financial tracking.</li><li>Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.</li><li>Proficiency using Microsoft Project and the Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>Comfortable working in a hands-on leadership role within a fast-paced facilities environment.</li></ul>
