<p>We are seeking an experienced <strong>Solutions Architect</strong> to support an organization with an upcoming infrastructure modernization initiative. This is a flexible, part-time consulting opportunity focused on assessing existing IT infrastructure, evaluating modernization options, and developing strategic recommendations for future technology investments.</p><p><br></p><p>The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience with server infrastructure, virtualization, cloud technologies, and infrastructure migrations. This individual will serve as a trusted technical advisor, helping evaluate solutions, identify risks, and develop practical, cost-effective migration strategies.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Assess existing server infrastructure, virtualization environments, and supporting technologies to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.</li><li>Evaluate infrastructure modernization options, including hardware refreshes, virtualization alternatives, and cloud or hybrid solutions.</li><li>Develop technical recommendations and migration strategies for aging infrastructure and operating systems.</li><li>Assess the feasibility of in-place upgrades versus full server migrations or rebuilds.</li><li>Provide infrastructure sizing, capacity planning, and cost considerations for proposed solutions.</li><li>Evaluate VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Azure environments to determine appropriate solutions based on business requirements.</li><li>Develop technical roadmaps, implementation plans, and recommendations for long-term infrastructure improvements.</li><li>Collaborate with internal IT stakeholders and external service providers to validate technical requirements and proposed solutions.</li><li>Provide independent technical guidance on infrastructure architecture, security, scalability, and business continuity.</li><li>Support infrastructure migration planning and implementation activities as required.</li></ul>

<p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Extensive experience as a Solutions Architect, Infrastructure Architect, or Senior Infrastructure Consultant.</li><li>Strong hands-on background with enterprise server infrastructure, virtualization, and infrastructure modernization.</li><li>Deep understanding of <strong>VMware, Microsoft Windows Server, and Microsoft Hyper-V</strong>.</li><li>Experience with <strong>Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments</strong>.</li><li>Demonstrated experience assessing existing infrastructure and developing migration strategies.</li><li>Strong understanding of server upgrades, hardware lifecycle management, and virtualization migrations.</li><li>Experience with infrastructure sizing, capacity planning, and technical solution design.</li><li>Knowledge of infrastructure security, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity best practices.</li><li>Ability to independently assess technical environments and provide practical, cost-conscious recommendations.</li><li>Strong communication skills and experience advising IT leadership and collaborating with technical stakeholders.</li></ul><p><strong>Nice to Have</strong></p><ul><li>Experience migrating VMware environments to Hyper-V or Azure.</li><li>Familiarity with Dell server infrastructure and converged infrastructure solutions.</li><li>Experience with Remote Desktop Services (RDS).</li><li>Exposure to ERP infrastructure or enterprise application hosting.</li><li>Experience working with Managed Services Providers (MSPs) or supporting vendor evaluations.</li></ul><p><strong>Contract Details</strong></p><p>This is a <strong>remote, part-time consulting engagement</strong> offering flexible hours based on project requirements. Initial responsibilities will focus on infrastructure assessment, solution design, and strategic planning, with the potential for additional involvement during future implementation phases.</p><p><br></p><p>We are looking for a senior technical professional who can work independently, provide objective recommendations, and help guide infrastructure modernization decisions.</p>
