SEO Specialist Job Description

This professional formalizes search engine optimization (SEO) strategies and helps lead the technology team in their implementation efforts across all websites and brand extensions. The SEO specialist works closely with marketing and product development teams, as well as agency partners, and serves as a functional expert for inbound linking strategies. Candidates for this role must have in-depth knowledge of online media and SEO, including keyword selection and utilization. Critical-thinking and communication skills are also essential. Knowledge of search engine marketing (SEM) is typically valued. Employers may also seek candidates with general knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and web analytics, and marketing or business development experience.

Planning, executing and managing SEO strategy and implementing SEO best practices to ensure websites and brand extensions are optimized for ranking on major search enginesMonitoring search terms, rankings and analytics continuously to gauge the performance of websites and make recommendations for improvementServing as a functional expert for inbound linking strategies and monitoring redirects, click rate, bounce rate and other performance metrics
