Medical Collections Manager/Supervisor in miami-fl

Medical Collections Manager/Supervisor Job Description

This role is responsible for managing and coordinating follow-up with medical insurance companies and denials and must have strong organizational, communication and collaboration skills. Healthcare firms look for candidates with a bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration or a related field, certification in billing and/or coding, and a minimum of five years of experience in a healthcare environment, particularly in billing, collections, payment processing or denial management. Some supervisory experience is typically preferred.

Typical medical collections manager/supervisor duties:

Tracking the status of all unpaid accounts, all denied accounts or accounts held for additional informationGathering and assembling documentation related to insurance follow-up and denialsMeeting with stakeholders to communicate root causes of payment delays and/or denials and providing training and recommendations to mitigate payment delaysResolving problems and rectifying inefficiencies related to payment delays or denialsEnsuring services are provided in accordance with state and federal regulations, organizational policy, and other requirementsEnsuring staff members adhere to federal and state regulations related to the protection of patient information, such as HIPAA, as well as facility-specific guidelines
