We are looking for an experienced Controller with mining industry experience to join our client's team in Toronto, Ontario. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the financial management of a growing organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting expertise, leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to improving systems and processes. Responsibilities:• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.• Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate timely reviews and audits of financial reports.• Manage full-cycle accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and month-end closings.• Oversee financial consolidations across multiple entities, including Canadian and international subsidiaries.• Develop and maintain robust internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting.• Collaborate with project leaders to monitor budgets, forecasts, and costs for various operational initiatives.• Provide oversight for vendor payments, treasury activities, and foreign exchange transactions.• Deliver insightful financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning by senior leadership.• Supervise and mentor entry level accounting staff or external accounting support as required.• Continuously identify and implement improvements to financial systems and processes.

• Accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) is preferred. • At least 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a public company environment. • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements. • Experience in industries such as mining, construction, or natural resources is advantageous. • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities effectively. • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and adaptability in a dynamic setting. • Excellent communication skills, with confidence in presenting to executives and external auditors. • Familiarity with budgeting, payroll, and ad hoc financial reporting processes.
