Are you an experienced accounting professional looking for an opportunity to lead and grow within a dynamic and growing company? Our client specializes in custom design, manufacture, and assembly of of projects throughout North America and expanding the team by hiring a Controller. Note that this role is 100% onsite until the new Controller is able to effectly perform the position in a hybrid capacity. As the Controller, you will report to the COO and take ownership of the organization's financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency while supporting business goals. You will be an integral part of the leadership team and collaborate with other departments including Operations, Production, Project Management and Supply Chain/Procurement. Responsibilities include:<ul><li>Leadership & Oversight: Provide direction for daily accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and the general ledger.</li><li>Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.</li><li>Internal Controls: Maintain internal financial safeguards, oversee budgets, track costs, and monitor expenditures.</li><li>Cash Flow Management: Drive forecasting and cash flow planning in collaboration with organizational leadership.</li><li>Audit Readiness: Coordinate the annual audit process and serve as the primary liaison for external auditors.</li><li>Compliance: Ensure adherence to all financial, tax, and regulatory reporting requirements.</li><li>Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to optimize accounting processes and systems for greater efficiency.</li><li>Inventory Management: Support cost tracking and analysis for inventory control.</li><li>Project Support: Provide financial expertise related to cost control, job costing, and billing for project management teams.</li><li>Team Development: Supervise, train, and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a high-performance team-oriented culture.</li></ul>

<ul><li>5+ years of accounting experience, including 2 years as a Controller or Accounting Manager.</li><li>CPA designation is preferred, although client may consider suitable candidates with adequate and relevant industry experience.</li><li>Construction or manufacturing industry experience is mandatory.</li><li>Full cycle accounting, month-end close, financial statement preparation, budgeting/forecasting, costing, inventory management, tax compliance and government remittances.</li><li>Strong technology skills including Excel and QuickBooks.</li><li>Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced and changing environment.</li><li>Strong leadership skills and ability to delegate work, mentor and coach staff.</li></ul>
