The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing complex accounting processes, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. </p><p><br></p><p>This position offers a hybrid work setup, with two<u> days on-site (downtown Toronto)</u> and the remainder remote, and requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.</p><p><br></p><p>Contract terms: 6 mon, immediate start. </p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Perform detailed account reconciliations, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations, to ensure financial accuracy.</p><p>• Prepare and record journal entries on a monthly basis in accordance with accounting standards.</p><p>• Handle month-end close activities, including generating and reviewing reports, to meet strict deadlines.</p><p>• Utilize advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and handling large datasets, to analyze and synthesize financial data.</p><p>• Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to address inquiries and resolve discrepancies.</p><p>• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and complete.</p><p>• Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.</p><p>• Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice entry and payment tracking.</p><p>• Take initiative to review prior billing records and journal entries to familiarize yourself with expectations for current reporting periods.</p><p>• Assist with reporting tasks and contribute to the development of financial summaries for stakeholders.</p>
