  • <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p> Our client, a mid-sized but growing organization, is seeking a hands-on Director of Infrastructure & Operations for an initial 3–6 month contract with the possibility of converting to a permanent role. This leader will oversee IT infrastructure, network, and operations functions through a period of significant modernization and change. The position offers an opportunity to make an immediate impact by providing strong leadership, reducing technical debt, and guiding a talented but junior-heavy team toward operational excellence.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Provide hands-on leadership and mentorship to the Infrastructure & Operations team, guiding them through project execution and capability development.</li><li>Oversee and drive multiple in-flight initiatives, including:</li><li>Phone system replacement (may be completed during contract term)</li><li>Data center consolidation (from two sites to one) with hardware, OS, and software upgrades</li><li>Integration of systems and infrastructure from a recent acquisition</li><li>Network standardization and redesign to elevate performance from “acceptable” to “excellent”</li><li>IT infrastructure modernization to support growth and operational resilience</li><li>Assess current infrastructure and operational processes; identify gaps and implement best practices.</li><li>Architect and implement the future-state infrastructure strategy, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency.</li><li>Manage contractors and internal resources across networking, server infrastructure, cybersecurity, and helpdesk functions.</li><li>Partner with cybersecurity to align with the NIST framework and support ongoing security initiatives.</li><li>Ensure operational stability while executing catch-up upgrades and eliminating technical debt.</li></ul>
