  • <p>We are looking for a <strong>Data Centre Technician</strong> to support the day-to-day operation for a contract position based in the York Region. This role focuses on supporting data centre infrastructure, customer equipment, and connectivity systems to ensure reliable operations and service delivery. The successful candidate will perform cabling, rack and stack activities, hardware troubleshooting, and remote hands support, while responding to operational issues and service requests in a fast-paced environment.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Responsibilities:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Monitor and support critical facility infrastructure, including power, cooling, environmental, and building monitoring systems to ensure continuous operations.</li><li>Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance activities, and operational checks throughout the data centre environment.</li><li>Install, route, label, and maintain structured copper and fibre cabling to support customer and infrastructure requirements.</li><li>Perform rack and stack activities, equipment installations, hardware upgrades, and decommissioning projects.</li><li>Provide hands-on hardware support, including replacing RAM, power supplies, blades, and other server components as required.</li><li>Respond to service requests and client tickets, performing hard resets, basic diagnostics, and Tier 1 troubleshooting to minimize downtime.</li><li>Support customers and vendors with onsite activities, equipment access, and remote hands services in accordance with operational procedures.</li><li>Receive, inventory, and organize incoming equipment shipments while maintaining accurate asset records and documentation.</li><li>Maintain accurate documentation, asset records, and change management activities while ensuring compliance with safety, security, and operational standards.</li><li>Assist with data centre moves, adds, changes, and decommissioning activities while adhering to established processes and best practices.</li></ul>
