- We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join an association in Vancouver, British Columbia on a Long-term Contract. This position is fully onsite at the outset and will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting cycles, and helping the team stay on track through monthly and year-end activities. The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgement, and the ability to work independently in a collaborative environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage month-end and year-end accounting activities, including preparing accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations to support timely close processes.<br>• Complete detailed bank reconciliations, including higher-volume or more manual accounts, and investigate variances to ensure accuracy.<br>• Maintain fixed asset records by processing additions, calculating depreciation, and supporting the distinction between capital and operating expenditures.<br>• Assist with budgeting and forecasting by compiling financial information, summarizing results, and contributing to variance analysis and reporting packages.<br>• Prepare and update audit support documentation and working papers to facilitate external and internal review requirements.<br>• Support general ledger maintenance and ensure financial data is recorded accurately within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.<br>• Organize and maintain finance documentation and filing to support compliance, record retention, and efficient access to accounting information.<br>• Collaborate with accounting and cross-functional team members on daily financial operations and provide dependable support during peak reporting periods.

This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and ready to lead while contributing to the accuracy, efficiency, and success of the accounting function.</p><p><br></p><p>What You’ll Do</p><p>Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant, will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations and supporting the financial health of multiple business entities. Responsibilities include:</p><p>• Oversee the full-cycle accounting function, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, bank reconciliations, accruals, and month-end/year-end close</p><p>• Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements and supporting schedules</p><p>• Review and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts</p><p>• Coordinate and review accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, collections, cash application, and customer account reconciliations</p><p>• Manage invoicing and accounts payable processes with a hands-on approach, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance</p><p>• Support external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and required documentation</p><p>• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies</p><p>• Partner with Operations, Dispatch, Sales, and Customer Service teams to resolve accounting and billing issues</p><p>• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency</p><p>• Prepare government remittances, including GST/PST and other regulatory filings as required</p><p>• Assist management with financial analysis and special projects</p><p>• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation across multiple entities</p><p>• Foster a positive, collaborative work environment with both local and remote team members</p>
