Intermediate Accountant
<p>We are looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our team our Vancouver clients team. This long-term contract position offers an opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a dynamic organization, supporting multiple entities and ensuring accurate bookkeeping and payroll processes. The role is ideal for someone who values precision and seeks a collaborative work environment.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Record financial transactions across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy in both hardcopy and digital formats.</p><p>• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain general ledger coding for various accounts.</p><p>• Oversee semi-monthly payroll processes, including unionized payroll and pension/benefit calculations.</p><p>• Prepare funding reports and financial statements for organizational stakeholders.</p><p>• Manage procurement and office supplies for smooth administrative operations.</p><p>• Support audit preparations by analyzing financial data and compiling necessary documentation.</p><p>• Utilize Sage accounting software and advanced Excel functions such as VLOOKUP and pivot tables.</p><p>• Collaborate with the finance manager and executive director to ensure compliance with organizational policies.</p><p>• Handle donations and fundraising records, maintaining transparency and accountability.</p><p>• Provide guidance on financial best practices within a small office environment.</p>
• Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles.<br>• Proficiency in Sage accounting software and advanced Excel functions, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.<br>• Strong understanding of payroll systems, including unionized payroll and pension/benefit administration.<br>• Familiarity with financial reporting and audit preparation processes.<br>• Ability to manage multiple bank accounts and reconcile transactions effectively.<br>• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines.<br>• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry.<br>• Comfortable working in a small office setting with up to 33 employees.
