Accounts Payable Clerk
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Vancouver, British Columbia. In this role, you will support the financial operations of a non-profit organization by managing invoice processing, vendor payments, and related administrative tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful work while honing your accounting skills.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Process and verify invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.<br>• Prepare and issue payments to vendors in a timely and efficient manner.<br>• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies as needed.<br>• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation of all transactions.<br>• Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to address payment-related inquiries.<br>• Assist in month-end closing activities by providing necessary accounts payable data.<br>• Monitor and manage accounts payable aging reports to ensure proper follow-up on outstanding items.<br>• Support the implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency in the accounts payable function.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard accounting software.<br>• Previous experience in an accounts payable or similar finance role.<br>• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.<br>• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.<br>• Effective communication skills for liaising with vendors and team members.<br>• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.<br>• Previous experience in the non-profit sector is an asset.
