Our East end manufacturing client is seeking a new Controller who reports to the Director of Finance. You perform and oversee a variety of accounting activities in accordance with accounting standards to control the organization's financial resources and ensure that it complies with all relevant reporting requirements. Responsibilities:(Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following)• Analyze project costs and revenues• Prepare, analyze, and plan full variance reports• Process intercompany payments and perform account reconciliations• Collaborate with Project Managers to review and report actuals and forecasts (costs, revenues, billings, margins) and investigate project issues as they arise• Prepare internal management reports• Monitor inventory flow accuracy within the ERP system• Review and maintain quarterly obsolescence provisions• Develop and support new system procedures to improve accuracy of inventory valuations and counts (including RMA processes)• Coordinate and participate in periodic inventory counts and the annual fixed asset inventory• Prepare and distribute monthly program-specific reporting for Project Managers• Work with the Database Administrator and Operations teams to support and test system enhancements related to reporting efficiency, operational controls, data integrity, and application/table maintenance• Provide reporting to the U.S. parent company• Prepare Statistics Canada reports• Support various accounting projects and tasks as needed• Participate in cross-functional initiatives as requested• Comply with all environmental, health, and safety regulations and follow environmental and quality management procedures

Experience:• Minimum of ten years experience, including five years in a similar role• Experience managing a small accounting team• Experience in all aspects of accounting including Cost Accounting, Inventory Control, Inter-company Reconciliations, AR, & AP• Experience using ERP software, preference for Visual Manufacturing• Experience working for a manufacturing company• Experience working with percentage of completion (POC) revenue recognition• Experience working with government contracts Education/ Professional Certification:• Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Accounting• Accounting designation; CPA Skills:• Solid understanding of financial reporting• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables) and intermediate Access experience This is a fully on-site role.
