Payroll Specialist
<p>Our client is seeking an experienced <strong>Payroll Specialist</strong> for a long-term contract in <strong>Lethbridge</strong>. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional experienced in high-volume payroll, pension compliance, and year-end processes. You’ll oversee a full bi-weekly payroll cycle, support process improvements, and ensure accurate and efficient operations.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Process bi-weekly payroll for 2,000+ employees.</li><li>Conduct payroll audits and resolve discrepancies.</li><li>Manage defined benefit pension administration.</li><li>Lead year-end tasks, including adjustments and T4 preparation.</li><li>Calculate retroactive payments for unionized staff.</li><li>Collaborate with time and labour teams to validate data.</li><li>Prepare reconciliations, journal entries, and payroll reports.</li><li>Provide workflow guidance to team members.</li><li>Work with systems such as PeopleSoft or Dayforce.</li><li>Support accurate setup of new employees.</li></ul><p><br></p>
