Controller
<p>We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Guelph, Ontario. This role requires a strong leader who is ready to manage financial operations, oversee reporting frameworks, and drive compliance in a dynamic and evolving environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial management and contributing to the strategic growth of the organization.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Manage month end processes, financial reporting, and oversee all accounting functions (including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bookkeeping activities)</p><p>• Develop and maintain reporting frameworks for transfer payments, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.</p><p>• Lead financial planning and budgeting processes to support organizational objectives and funding transformations.</p><p>• Prepare and analyze month-end close reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.</p><p>• Oversee government remittances and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.</p><p>• Collaborate on special projects, including provincial mapping initiatives and funding applications.</p><p>• Provide leadership and performance management to the financial team, fostering growth and development.</p><p>• Utilize software tools to streamline financial processes and approvals.</p><p>• Support audits and heavy reporting periods with a hands-on approach.</p><p>• Attend board meetings and organizational events as required, ensuring financial insights are represented.</p>
<p>• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role preferred.</p><p>• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including v-lookups, h-lookups, and pivot tables.</p><p>• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting processes, and financial reporting.</p><p>• Experience working with accounting software such as Sage, Quickbooks, Xero</p><p>• CPA designation strongly preferred</p><p>• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage performance effectively.</p><p>• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.</p><p>• Willingness to travel occasionally for board meetings or organizational events.</p>
