Inventory Coordinator Job Description

An Inventory Coordinator in Canada efficiently manages and optimizes inventory levels, ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction. This role oversees receiving, storage, retrieval, and accuracy of inventory items across locations, controlling costs, minimizing waste, and ensuring product availability. Candidates need strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency with inventory management software (ERP/WMS). Experience in inventory management, warehousing, or logistics is required. A post-secondary diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business is preferred. Understanding Canadian logistics challenges and efficient warehouse practices is a valuable asset.

Typical inventory coordinator duties:

Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to meet demands and minimize costs.Coordinate accurate receiving, stocking, and dispatching of goods.Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories, resolving discrepancies.Utilize inventory management systems (ERP/WMS) for tracking, records, and reporting.Identify and report on slow-moving or obsolete inventory.Collaborate with purchasing, warehouse, production, and sales teams for forecasting and availability.Ensure proper organization and labelling of inventory.Contribute to process improvements for inventory accuracy and efficiency.
