An Audit/Assurance Services Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing audit engagements, ensuring the delivery of high-quality assurance services to clients. This role involves leading audit teams, reviewing financial statements and internal controls, and providing strategic insights to clients on financial reporting and risk management. The manager is the primary client contact, ensuring engagement profitability and client satisfaction. This position demands strong technical accounting and auditing expertise, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex projects. A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is essential. A deep and current understanding of Canadian auditing standards (CAS), IFRS/ASPE, and relevant regulatory requirements is paramount.

Typical audit/assurance services manager duties:

Lead and manage multiple audit and assurance engagements from planning to completion.Supervise, mentor, and review the work of audit staff, fostering their professional development.Oversee the examination of financial statements, disclosures, and internal controls.Serve as the primary client contact, managing relationships and addressing client needs.Identify and communicate audit findings, risks, and recommendations to clients and engagement partners.Ensure all audit work complies with Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS) and firm methodologies.Manage engagement budgets and timelines, ensuring profitability and efficiency.Stay current with industry trends, accounting standards (IFRS/ASPE), and regulatory changes.
