Experienced Azure Infrastructure Engineer<table width="680"><tbody><tr><td width="552"><p>Our client is seeking a specialised Azure Infrastructure Engineer to join a large-scale, two-year transformation project focused on security remediation, cost management, and infrastructure uplift. This role will initially be a 6-month contract, with the potential for ongoing work as the project transitions into BAU operations.<br /> </p><p>Key Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Enterprise Security Uplift - Implement security benchmarks (NIST 3.9, Essential 8, ISO 27001) to enhance infrastructure and operations security.</li><li>Azure Cost Management - Identify and execute cost-saving strategies (e.g., reducing Azure spend from $1M to $700K) while maintaining compliance.</li><li>Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - Deploy and manage infrastructure using Terraform.</li><li>Azure Landing Zones & Networking - Design, configure, and secure Azure Landing Zones and ensure proper networking/security setup.</li><li>Security Remediation & Incident Response - Support the cyber incident response plan and security enhancement initiatives.</li><li>Project Execution & Stakeholder Engagement - Collaborate with internal teams (Apps, Data, Security, Infrastructure) and external vendors to execute the Azure cloud strategy.</li><li>UAT Testing & Change Management - Conduct testing and validation before implementing changes in production.</li><li>Azure Best Practices - Ensure compliance with the Azure Well-Architected Framework and industry standards.<br /> </li></ul><p>Key Requirements (Must-Haves):</p><ol><li>Azure Landing Zones & Secure Configuration - Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and securing Azure Landing Zones.</li><li>Azure Cost Management & Optimisation - Proven track record of analysing and reducing Azure costs while maintaining security and performance.</li><li>Backup, Security & Compliance - Strong understanding of Azure Backup, security frameworks (Essential 8, NIST, ISO 27001), and governance best practices.<br /> </li></ol><p>Additional Requirements:</p><ul><li>Excellent communication skills - Experience interacting with stakeholders and vendors.</li><li>Hands-on experience with the Azure Well-Architected Framework.</li><li>Experience working with outsourced vendors.<br /> </li></ul><p>This role is ideal for an experienced Azure Engineer who can take ownership, drive projects forward, and collaborate with stakeholders in a fast-paced enterprise environment.</p><p> </p><p> </p></td></tr></tbody></table><p><br /> </p><p><em>By clicking 'apply', you give your express consent that Robert Half may use your personal information to process your job application and to contact you from time to time for future employment opportunities.
