It's a family friendly community with a relaxed pace of life.You'll be joining an established business that is approx. $400m T/O and this is an opportunity for an ambitious Senior Financial Accountant seeking broader responsibility as you develop your skills as you move towards an FC position. What you'll do: This isn't a role where you'll spend the next couple of years doing the same month-end process.The business has recently moved to SAP S/4HANA, and you'll play a key role in stabilising and improving the system, while also taking ownership across financial and statutory reporting, controls, treasury, tax and derivatives. Longer term, there is scope to work on automation, AI, digital improvements and simplifying domestic and international tax processes.So, yes, you'll still be accountable for the numbers. But this is also about improving how the finance function operates.You'll sit within an eight-person finance team and report to a very good Financial Controller.There are no direct reports, but you'll have plenty of influence across the finance function and the wider business.Your responsibilities will include:<ul><li>Financial, management and statutory reporting</li><li>External audit and accounting standards</li><li>Financial controls, reconciliations and control improvement</li><li>Supporting treasury and cash-flow forecasting</li><li>International tax compliance and reporting</li><li>Derivative and hedge accounting</li><li>SAP S/4HANA optimisation following the recent implementation</li><li>Identifying opportunities for automation and better use of technology and AI</li><li>Process improvement across finance</li><li>Working with operational and technical stakeholders to provide commercial insight</li><li>Supporting and developing other members of the finance team</li></ul>Who you are: You'll be someone serious about the next step in their career and be ready and willing to explore a new way of life. Because the position is new, you'll have the opportunity to improve reporting, processes, and controls, rather than simply maintaining what somebody else built. Importantly, you're not being hired to spend your days processing invoices, chasing purchase orders or getting buried in transactional finance. That work is supported externally.Your role is to focus on the things a good Financial Controller should be focusing on which is understanding the numbers. Challenging them, explaining them, and then using them to help the business make better decisions.You'll work closely with the Directors and senior operational leaders, providing the financial insight needed to support performance and growth. This isn't a role for you if you're looking for the biggest finance team but it is for you if you're a Financial Controller who wants autonomy, visibility and influence. You will be someone who will ask questions and get the story behind the numbers, and you'll be comfortable pulling on your business partner skills to have conversations with people outside of Finance.
