Paralegal Job Description

Paralegals play a critical role in supporting legal teams by conducting research, drafting documents and managing case files. Working in law firms, corporate legal departments and government agencies, paralegals help ensure legal processes run smoothly and efficiently. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments. Paralegals collaborate closely with attorneys and clients to prepare for hearings, trials and other legal proceedings.

Typical paralegal duties:

Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorneysDraft legal documents, including contracts, pleadings and correspondenceOrganize and maintain case files, ensuring accuracy and confidentialityAssist in preparing for depositions, hearings and trialsFile legal documents with courts and regulatory agenciesCommunicate with clients, witnesses and experts to gather informationReview and analyze legal documents for relevance and accuracyMonitor deadlines and ensure timely submission of legal filingsSupport attorneys in managing caseloads and administrative tasks
