Fraud Investigator Job Description

Fraud investigators must have at least three years of experience and a bachelor’s degree in business, finance or a related field. Firms look for detail-oriented candidates with effective verbal and writing skills and the ability to work well under tight deadlines. Experience completing suspicious activity reports (SAR) and drafting SAR narratives is preferred.

Typical fraud investigator duties:

Conducting investigations on confirmed and suspected cases of fraud and other related financial crimesResearching potential fraudulent activities and unusual transaction reportsCompiling investigative documentationConducting interviews as part of fraud investigationsMaking recommendations to enhance internal controlsDrafting SARs and filing police reports as necessary
