Event Manager Job Description

Event managers plan and manage corporate events or participation in trade shows and conferences, including identifying event locations, negotiating rates and coordinating event staffing. They may work with vendors as well as corporate marketing and public relations departments to ensure successful participation in promotions. This role requires excellent organizational and project management skills and event planning experience.

Typical event manager duties:

Developing budgets for functions, acquiring event permits, booking hotel and conference rooms, securing speakers, and gathering products for display and promotional giveawaysEnsuring availability of equipment and supplies, and overseeing setup and breakdown of demonstration booths and other event-related structuresAnalyzing the success of events and reporting results to stakeholders
