ERP/CRM architects lead the design, implementation and optimization of enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) systems. They align technology solutions with business objectives, ensuring system scalability, integration and performance. As AI technologies become increasingly embedded in enterprise platforms, ERP/CRM architects are expected to evaluate and integrate AI-driven features to enhance operational efficiency and customer engagement. They collaborate with stakeholders across departments to deliver robust, user-centric platforms that support operational efficiency and customer engagement.

Typical ERP/CRM architect duties:

Design and oversee the architecture of ERP and CRM systems to meet business and technical requirementsLead system integration efforts across finance, sales, operations and customer service platformsCollaborate with business leaders to define system functionality, workflows and reporting needsEvaluate and implement AI-powered features such as predictive forecasting, intelligent lead scoring and automated customer service tools Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and configuration standardsEvaluate and recommend ERP/CRM platforms, tools and enhancements—including AI capabilities—to help achieve business goalsEnsure data integrity, security and compliance across all integrated systemsProvide technical leadership during system upgrades, migrations and implementationsTroubleshoot complex issues and support continuous improvement of system performance and user experienceStay current on ERP/CRM trends, AI technologies and enterprise architecture best practices to drive innovation
