ERP Project Manager job description

An ERP project manager oversees the planning, implementation and optimization of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems that support critical business operations. Working with stakeholders across technology, finance, human resources, supply chain and other functions, ERP project managers coordinate system deployments, process improvements and organizational change initiatives. They play a key role in ensuring ERP projects are completed on time, within budget and aligned with business objectives.

Typical ERP project manager duties:

Lead ERP implementation, upgrade and transformation projects from planning through deployment and post-launch support. Coordinate cross-functional teams, vendors and business stakeholders to ensure project goals, timelines and deliverables are achieved. Develop project plans, manage budgets and track milestones, risks and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle. Oversee business process reviews and support the alignment of ERP functionality with operational requirements. Facilitate testing, training and change management activities to promote user adoption and successful system integration. Monitor project performance and recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency, data visibility and business outcomes.
