Patent Agent Job Description

Patent agents help clients secure patents for scientific inventions from the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO). While patent agents don’t have to be attorneys, they must pass the patent bar examination given by the USPTO. They are also generally expected to have a bachelor’s degree in the area in which they specialize.
