<p>Robert Half is pleased to be working on behalf of a market-leading, North Leeds based distributor within the construction sector. This owner-managed group encompasses two major brands, employs approximately 650 staff, and operates from a network of sites across the UK and Northern Ireland.</p><p>As Management Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts for a selection of branches. You'll work directly with Branch Directors, becoming a trusted business partner and helping interpret financial performance to drive improvement. In addition to core management accounts, you will develop and maintain commercial reporting and sales/margin analysis, and support ad hoc finance projects.</p><p>This is an ideal opportunity for a confident, ambitious qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA) eager to make an impact within a £300m turnover business. You'll enjoy genuine ownership of branch P&Ls, and enhance your commercial analysis skills in a hands-on, supportive environment.</p><p>Immediate start available.</p><p>Key Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Prepare and produce monthly management accounts (including accruals, prepayments, and journals) within tight month-end deadlines.</li><li>Partner with Branch Directors, assisting them in interpreting monthly financial results and improving performance.</li><li>Deliver commercial reporting and analysis, building, improving, and maintaining Excel models for sales and margin insights.</li><li>Support branch directors with annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.</li><li>Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.</li><li>Contribute to ad hoc analysis (sales, margin, costs) and process improvements.</li><li>Assist with bi-annual stocktakes.</li></ul><p>Key Relationships: Internally: Branch Directors, Regional Directors, Commercial Finance Manager, Sales Directors, Finance colleagues, Purchase Ledger, Credit Control. Externally: External Auditors, Suppliers, Customers.</p><p>Candidate Requirements:</p><ul><li>Fully qualified accountant (CIMA or ACCA).</li><li>Minimum of 2 years' experience producing monthly management accounts.</li><li>Strong background in budgeting and forecasting.</li><li>Excellent IT skills, particularly advanced Excel (data manipulation, pivot tables, sumifs, vlookups, xlookups, index match).</li><li>Proven track record in building and improving commercial reporting and Excel models.</li><li>Able to work to tight deadlines and communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders.</li><li>Highly organised, accurate, and detail-oriented with strong presentation skills.</li><li>Motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive approach.</li><li>Experience with rebates and background in distribution/construction sectors advantageous.</li></ul><p>If you're an ambitious Management Accountant ready to take ownership of a commercial finance role within a fast-growing business, we want to hear from you.</p><p>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
