- <p>We are looking for a Business Manager to join an education organization in Surrey, British Columbia on a Contract basis. This position oversees several school support functions, including retail operations, purchasing, food services, and facility rentals, while delivering responsive service to students, families, staff, and external partners. The successful candidate will bring strong operational judgement, vendor coordination experience, and the ability to keep business services running smoothly through effective planning, reporting, and relationship management.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Shape and support the direction of the retail program, including uniforms and branded items, while helping deliver a positive customer service.</p><p>• Maintain accurate stock records, monitor product costs, and review inventory levels regularly to support replenishment, reconciliation, and month-end activities.</p><p>• Coordinate volunteers by organizing schedules, providing guidance and training, and fostering an engaged and dependable team environment.</p><p>• Build productive supplier relationships, source appropriate products, negotiate pricing, and assess quality for uniforms, gifts, apparel, furniture, and other business service needs.</p><p>• Partner with school departments on custom orders and athletic apparel requests, arrange samples, and confirm that products meet budget and quality expectations.</p><p>• Contribute to purchasing processes by supporting proposal documentation, addressing supply issues with vendors or internal stakeholders, and identifying opportunities to improve value and efficiency.</p><p>• Oversee food services arrangements by managing vendor relationships, supporting contract discussions, responding to concerns, and helping ensure compliant, effective day-to-day operations.</p><p>• Administer the online food ordering platform by updating menus and user information, assisting with orders and account funding, resolving user inquiries, and preparing operational and financial reports.</p><p>• Support external use of organization facilities by preparing rental agreements, maintaining booking information, requesting required insurance documentation, and coordinating timely invoicing with finance.</p><p>• Provide general business services support through service planning, community-facing communication, and other assigned operational duties as needed.</p><p>• Complete monthly financial reporting, month end close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis.</p>
