- <p><strong>THE ROLE:</strong></p><p>Our Edmonton-based client is seeking a Senior Accountant for a contract opportunity supporting critical financial reporting activities, month-end processes, and key finance initiatives. This role is ideal for a designated accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with complex reconciliations and working papers, and can quickly contribute to a high-performing team</p><p><em>Responsibilities:</em></p><ul><li>Lead month-end close activities, including reconciliations, working papers, and supporting schedules</li><li>Prepare financial reporting packages and support IFRS-compliant financial statements and disclosures</li><li>Perform detailed variance analysis and provide insights to support business decisions</li><li>Assist with finance-related projects, process improvements, and system initiatives</li><li>Support year-end requirements, including inventory counts, rollbacks, and reconciliations as needed</li><li>Partner with a collaborative finance team to meet tight reporting deadlines</li><li>Contribute to continuous improvement efforts across accounting processes and controls</li></ul><p><strong>ABOUT YOU:</strong></p><p>You are a designated accounting professional with strong technical accounting knowledge and a proven ability to manage competing priorities in deadline-driven environments.
