- <p><strong>THE ROLE:</strong></p><p>Our growing Canadian organization is seeking an experienced accounting professional to support a fast-moving investment and business lending environment. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in financial restructuring, tax compliance, investor reporting, and ongoing accounting operations.</p><p><em>Key Responsibilities:</em></p><ul><li>Lead the preparation and maintenance of accurate profit and loss reporting, including detailed analysis of revenues, costs, margins, and overall financial performance</li><li>Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports</li><li>Oversee and execute month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting</li><li>Review and reconcile merchant cash advance (MCA) transactions, including commissions, settlements, collections, and related deductions</li><li>Prepare and submit indirect tax filings, including GST/PST returns, while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations</li><li>Coordinate communications and information requests with federal and provincial tax authorities</li><li>Partner with external accounting firms and investor representatives to support reporting, compliance, and financial disclosure requirements</li><li>Assist with year-end reporting activities, audit preparation, and supporting documentation</li><li>Review investor agreements, finder fee arrangements, and other financial contracts, identifying potential accounting or financial reporting implications</li><li>Contribute to process improvements and help strengthen internal accounting practices within a fast-paced and evolving environment</li></ul><p><strong>ABOUT YOU:</strong></p><p>You are a confident and proactive accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic business setting.
