Accountant
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in London, Ontario. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing monthly statements, and ensuring compliance with government regulations. Your expertise in accounting processes will be vital in analyzing financial data and supporting management with actionable insights.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Prepare monthly financial statements, including income statements, overhead expense schedules, and balance sheets, within the designated timeframe.<br>• Calculate essential financial ratios for presentation to the Board of Directors alongside prepared statements.<br>• Assist in forecasting annual expenses and developing fiscal year projections.<br>• Post and reconcile monthly general ledger entries and accruals to ensure accuracy.<br>• Conduct monthly reconciliation of prepaid accounts, accrued purchases, and accrued freight and brokerage expenses.<br>• Monitor fixed assets, post depreciation entries, and report updates on new acquisitions.<br>• Ensure compliance with government standards in all accounting documentation and processes.<br>• Analyze monthly expenses, identifying items that require clarification or further explanation for management.<br>• Review significant or unusual entries and collaborate with operations or customer service teams to resolve discrepancies.<br>• Facilitate monthly coding and posting of credit card transactions while following up with cardholders for necessary receipts.
<p>• A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial management.</p><p>• Proficiency in account reconciliation, including bank statements and balance sheet accounts.</p><p>• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing processes.</p><p>• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis.</p><p>• Experience in fixed asset accounting, including depreciation calculations and reporting.</p><p>• Ability to manage and reconcile expense reports and monthly accruals.</p><p>• Familiarity with month-end close processes and journal entry adjustments.</p><p>• Excellent analytical skills to identify financial discrepancies and provide solutions</p>
