Finance Director

Finance Director Job Description

As a vital part of the management team, the Finance Director provides strategic financial oversight and drives the organization's fiscal health. This executive role demands strong leadership, management, technological acumen, advanced analytical, and exceptional communication skills. This position generally requires a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with public accounting experience being highly valued. A Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting is required, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a designation such as the Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) is strongly preferred.

Typical finance director duties:

Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.Manage financial planning and analysis to support strategic decision-making.Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.Lead and mentor the finance and accounting teams.Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to management.Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk.
