This role will drive continuous improvement in safety systems, risk management, and safety culture across the organisation. The successful candidate is expected to be a subject matter expert, able to influence across functions and levels, to embed proactive safety behaviours and ensure safe, healthy, and sustainable workplaces for all employees, contractors, and visitors.</p><p> </p><p>Some responsibilities will include:</p><ul><li>Lead and implement WHS strategy, ensuring compliance with legislation and organisational goals.</li><li>Maintain and improve WHS systems, including policies, procedures, audits, and risk management processes.</li><li>Manage incident reporting and investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.</li><li>Oversee contractor and supplier safety, ensuring compliance with organisational standards.</li><li>Develop and deliver training programs to build safety awareness and accountability across the organisation.</li><li>Monitor and report safety performance metrics, support wellbeing initiatives, and advise leadership on WHS matters.</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Your Profile</span></strong></p><ul><li>Cert IV or Diploma in WHS or OHS is desirable.</li><li>Substantial experience in WHS roles in medium to large organisations, with broad exposure to hazard types, regulatory compliance, incident investigation etc.</li><li>Demonstrated experience in risk management systems, audits, inspections, contractor management.</li><li>Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, relevant codes of practice, standards.</li><li>Experience managing or influencing change, embedding safety culture, training & development.</li><li>Strong analytical skills: able to interrogate safety data, identify trends and drive improvement.</li><li>Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to present to senior management, influence various stakeholders.</li><li>Resilience, ability to work under pressure, and to juggle strategic and operational tasks.</li><li>Capacity to travel to sites as needed.
