Senior Paralegal job description

Senior paralegals provide advanced legal support to attorneys by managing complex casework, conducting research and overseeing document preparation. This role requires paralegal experience and is essential to maintaining legal accuracy, efficiency and compliance across a wide range of practice areas. Senior paralegals collaborate with legal teams, clients and external partners to ensure high-quality service and case management.

Typical senior paralegal duties:

Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, discovery and correspondence

Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorney review

Manage case files, calendars and deadlines across multiple matters

Coordinate with clients, courts and third parties to facilitate case progress

Assist in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness materials

Support attorneys during depositions, hearings and other legal proceedings

Monitor regulatory changes and ensure documentation aligns with current laws

Supervise, train and mentor junior paralegals, discovery and litigation support teams,and or legal assistant

Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with firm policies and legal standards
