Digital Asset Manager Job Description

Digital asset managers supervise the organization, storage and distribution of digital content across platforms and teams. They oversee digital asset management (DAM) systems, ensure metadata accuracy and maintain brand consistency across all digital files. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in digital content workflows, asset taxonomy and cross-functional collaboration.

Typical digital asset manager duties:

Oversee the DAM system and ensure proper tagging, organization and accessibility of assetsDevelop and maintain metadata standards, file naming conventions and taxonomy structuresCollaborate with creative, marketing and product teams to support content lifecycle needsSupervise asset ingestion, version control and archival processesEnsure brand consistency and usage rights compliance across all digital contentTrain internal teams on DAM best practices and system functionalityMonitor system performance and coordinate with IT or vendors for updates and enhancementsAudit and clean up legacy assets to improve searchability and efficiencySupport content distribution across channels, including websites, social media and partner platforms
