As the organisation continues to develop and grow, a need has arisen for a proactive Financial Controller to join their team and drive robust financial management across the business.Purpose of the Role: Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will oversee day-to-day financial operations, manage the finance team, and deliver accurate reporting, analysis, and controls to ensure sound financial decision-making supporting continued company growth.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Lead and direct the daily operations of the finance function, including financial reporting, accounting, credit control, payroll, and transactional processing.</li><li>Prepare monthly management accounts, year-end financial statements, and board reports.</li><li>Own the budgeting and forecasting process, partnering with commercial and operational stakeholders to drive business performance.</li><li>Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements (including VAT).</li><li>Maintain and develop internal controls, financial policies, and procedures.</li><li>Supervise, mentor, and develop the finance team, supporting professional growth and ensuring high standards.</li><li>Manage company's cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships to ensure financial stability.</li><li>Work with external auditors and advisors on audit and tax activities.</li><li>Support financial analysis for business cases, investments, and commercial opportunities.</li><li>Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements within the finance department.</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.</li><li>Previous experience as a Financial Controller, ideally within the logistics, supply chain, transportation, or similar sector.</li><li>Proven leadership and team management skills.</li><li>Strong technical accounting capability, financial reporting, and commercial acumen.</li><li>Excellent communication skills; able to present financial information effectively to both finance and non-finance colleagues.</li><li>High level of integrity, attention to detail, and organisational skills.</li><li>Experience with financial systems and process improvement initiatives.</li></ul>Benefits:<ul><li>Competitive salary up to £85,000 per annum.</li><li>Pension, healthcare and company benefits package.</li><li>Opportunities for professional development and career progression.</li></ul>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions. Robert Half is partnering with commercial property and asset management business based in Cheshire. We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to support the Finance Director and wider team with the day to day financial operations of the group and its subsidiaries. The ideal candidate will be hands on, accurate, and proactive, with a genuine interest in contributing to a business that values long term relationships and stability.3 month assignment with a view to go permanent. Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Raise, send, and process sales and purchase invoices accurately and in a timely manner.</li><li>Handle expense claims and ensure they comply with company policy.</li><li>Manage credit control, including chasing overdue payments professionally and effectively.</li><li>Maintain the cash book and ensure all entries are correctly recorded.</li><li>Update and reconcile the purchase and sales ledgers.</li><li>Perform bank reconciliations and support month end close procedures.</li><li>Liaise with suppliers, clients, and third-party providers to resolve queries.</li><li>Assist with obtaining quotations and producing purchase orders.</li><li>Contribute to maintaining and improving finance procedures and documentation.</li><li>Provide general administrative support to the finance team as required.</li></ul>Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:<ul><li>Minimum 3 years' experience working within an accounts or credit control team.</li><li>Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and double entry bookkeeping.</li><li>Competent user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.</li><li>High level of accuracy and attention to detail.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem solving skills.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small team environment.</li><li>Experience within the property or investment sector is advantageous but not essential.</li></ul>Whats on offer:<ul><li>Competitive hourly rate </li><li>Onsite parking </li><li>ASAP start </li></ul>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
