The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the secure, efficient and reliable operation of all IT infrastructure, software and associated systems. This role plays a critical part in enabling the organisation to deliver its business objectives and meet evolving user requirements.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Infrastructure & Systems Management</strong></p><ul><li>Manage, support and maintain the organisation's infrastructure, including hardware, networks and software systems, ensuring optimal performance and correct licensing.</li><li>Oversee IT security, backups and compliance - including GDPR - in collaboration with internal teams and third-party suppliers.</li><li>Lead supplier management activities and coordinate regular security testing.</li></ul><p><strong>Team Leadership & Service Delivery</strong></p><ul><li>Line manage the IT Helpdesk function (2 people).</li><li>Participate in the organisation's incident management planning and response.</li><li>Work with operational teams to ensure comprehensive system documentation, robust processes and effective user support and training.</li></ul><p><strong>Strategic & Technical Leadership</strong></p><ul><li>Contribute to architectural decision-making alongside the wider IT team.</li><li>Develop and maintain IT governance, including policies and procedures.</li><li>Plan, document and test disaster recovery and business continuity measures.</li><li>Lead on telephony development, including mobile services, and manage multi-year procurement and licensing strategies.</li></ul><p><strong>Continuous Improvement</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain high-quality documentation across infrastructure, equipment, manuals and risk management.</li><li>Stay current with emerging technologies and propose enhancements that support operational effectiveness.</li><li>Provide support to the broader IT team and contribute to special projects as required.</li></ul><p><strong>Skills & Experience Required</strong></p><ul><li>Microsoft Associate certification in Azure, Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Security.</li><li>Proven experience as an IT Infrastructure Manager or equivalent role within a Microsoft hybrid environment (Entra, Intune, Azure).</li><li>Strong track record delivering IT infrastructure projects and organisational change, such as M365 file migrations, email protection initiatives and legacy-to-Azure transitions.</li><li>Excellent understanding of technical management, information analysis, hardware/software systems and hybrid cloud architectures.</li><li>Expertise in data governance and security principles.</li><li>Hands-on experience with computer networks, including switching, routing, security appliances, installation and administration.</li><li>Ability to combine strategic thinking with effective tactical execution.</li><li>Experience developing and monitoring IT policies and procedures.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage credibly at all levels.</li><li>Strong people-management skills.</li></ul><p> </p><p>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
