You be will be responsible for following duties:</p><ul><li>Preparation and reporting of monthly management accounts, including analytical review of the results and communicating underlying trends to the FD.</li><li>Lead the development of annual budget and quarterly financial forecasts.</li><li>Review of nominal ledger and balance sheet accounts, including posting of accrual journals in line with budget and real time knowledge.</li><li>Review of accrued and deferred net sales in line with revenue recognition principals and preparation of journals</li><li>Monitor and manage the agency's cash flow to ensure liquidity and prevent financial risk and reporting to HQ</li><li>Oversee billing and credit control function</li><li>Lead year-end reporting and audit</li><li>Oversee WIP management</li><li>Sign-off payment runs and bank transactions</li><li>Track and analyse financial performance, identifying key trends and potential areas for improvement.</li><li>Acknowledges the full extent of responsibilities and can prioritise a workplan that facilitates both the team and their reporting deadlines.</li><li>Provides insight and expertise to strengthen finance expertise and stakeholder relationships.</li><li>Can work with theoretical insight and information to draw recommendations.</li><li>Lead charge ability and utilisation reporting meeting with annotated analysis and recommendations.</li><li>Reviews overhead budgets vs actual.</li><li>Can advise how to better improve EBITDA without compromising on ROI</li><li>Understands the requirements of cash flow for project work, assisting internal and external teams accordingly.</li><li>Helps drives commercial understanding and financial process throughout the client service team.</li><li>Work with clients on financial matters related to project budgets, invoicing, and payment schedules.</li><li>Completes Performance review meetings with direct reports and provides feedback on wider team when requested.</li><li>Helps support project teams, upskilling, training, inducting as required.</li><li>Manage and mentor the finance team, ensuring their professional development and effectiveness.</li><li>Working closely with the Managing Director and Heads of Departments, including their account management and operations team to provide financial guidance and support for commercial decision making.</li></ul><p><strong>Profile:</strong></p><p>The successful, temporary Finance Manager will be either part-qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or Qualified by experience and ideally have previous experience experience working in Creative, PR, Advertising, Marketing or Media.</p><p>You must be immediate or 1 weeks notice to be considered for this role.</p><p><strong>Client:</strong></p><p>Our client are a leading Media business based in London. <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><strong>Project Finance Management:</strong></p><ul><li>Partner with Project Directors and Architects to manage budgets, forecasts, and profitability throughout the project lifecycle.</li><li>Coordinate and process changes to project financials - including scope adjustments, fee variations, and resourcing changes - ensuring updates are accurately reflected across the accounting system, forecasts, and internal reports.</li><li>Review and reconcile project amendments to maintain consistency between contractual documentation, project schedules, and accounting.</li><li>Produce and maintain project forecast vs. actual reports; identify deviations, analyse causes, and support corrective actions.</li><li>Provide clear insight to senior leadership on revenue recognition, utilisation, and margin performance.</li><li>Oversee invoicing and WIP management, ensuring revenue is recognised in line with project progress and contractual milestones.</li><li>Liaise with project leads to monitor sub-consultant and supplier costs and ensure timely approvals and billing.</li><li>Support compliance with timesheet completion and data integrity for all project-related entries.</li></ul><p> <strong>Financial and Management Accounting:</strong></p><ul><li>Prepare project and department-level profitability reporting for internal review and consolidation.</li><li>Support credit control and cashflow forecasting through accurate monitoring of project billings and receipts.</li><li>Support the Head of Financial Reporting & Control in implementing and refining project accounting procedures, including fee change tracking, project closeout reconciliations, and variance analysis.</li><li>Contribute to continuous improvement of financial systems and ensuring data consistency and workflow efficiency.</li></ul><p><strong>About You:</strong></p><ul><li>Qualified or finalist accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA).</li><li>Strong experience in project accounting, ideally within architecture, engineering, or professional services.</li><li>Strong understanding of project costing, WIP, and margin analysis.</li><li>Excellent Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modelling).</li><li>Experience with Sage 200, Deltek, or similar project accounting systems.</li><li>Exceptional attention to detail, analytical mindset, and commercial awareness.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with creative teams.</li></ul><p>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions. <p>The Permanent Division of Robert Half is currently recruiting for a Project Accountant on behalf of a Specialist Manufacturing business with offices in Bedford.</p><p>The Role</p><p>As Project Accountant Capital Accountant you support all project reporting and forecasting for the business working closely with Project Teams to produce increased WIP reporting and forecasts for presentation to the senior management team and external customers.
