This role is ideal for someone with strong technical accounting expertise and familiarity with financial reporting and compliance standards. As Financial Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing and preparing the company's financial data, ensuring accuracy, and supporting decision-making processes.</p><h3 id="key-responsibilities"><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h3><ul><li><strong>Financial Reporting:</strong> Preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports in compliance with UK GAAP or IFRS standards.</li><li><strong>Budget Management:</strong> Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by analyzing financial data and identifying variances.</li><li><strong>Audit Support:</strong> Actively coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation.</li><li><strong>Compliance:</strong> Ensure adherence to financial regulations, company policies, and tax obligations.</li><li><strong>Balance Sheet Reconciliations:</strong> Maintain and reconcile the company's balance sheets effectively.</li><li><strong>Accounts Support:</strong> Manage key areas such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger postings.</li><li><strong>Process Improvement:</strong> Identify inefficiencies in current processes and recommend improvements to optimize workflows.</li><li><strong>Stakeholder Communication:</strong> Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, to share financial insights.</li></ul><h3 id="requirements"><strong>Requirements</strong></h3><ul><li><strong>Education:</strong> ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified accountant (or finalist candidates may be considered).</li><li><strong>Experience:</strong> Minimum 3+ years of experience in a financial accounting or related role, ideally within the manufacturing, service, or SME sectors.</li><li><strong>Technical Knowledge:</strong> Familiarity with UK GAAP/IFRS standards and Microsoft Excel (advanced functions).</li><li><strong>Software Skills:</strong> Experience with ERP systems such as SAP. </li><li><strong>Analytical Skills:</strong> Strong ability to analyze complex financial information and provide actionable insights.</li><li><strong>Attention to Detail:</strong> High standards for accuracy and a proactive approach to resolving discrepancies.</li><li><strong>Communication Skills:</strong> Solid written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial data effectively to non-financial stakeholders.</li></ul><h3 id="preferred-skills"><strong>Preferred Skills</strong></h3><ul><li>Experience managing corporation tax filings and VAT returns.</li><li>Knowledge of Wolverhampton-based industries or similar.</li><li>Previous experience in a fast-paced environment, meeting tight deadlines.</li></ul><p>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
