- We are looking for a Network Architect to support a Contract engagement with a metal fabrication organization in Brampton, Ontario. This role will focus on strengthening network performance, improving switch configurations, and identifying the root causes of connectivity and latency issues across the environment. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in network architecture and configuration management, along with the ability to optimize infrastructure for reliability, scalability, and day-to-day operational efficiency.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Assess the current switching environment and provide technical guidance for upgrading legacy HP/Aruba equipment to newer 1830 and 2930 models.<br>• Review and refine switch configurations to ensure the organization is using available features effectively and aligning the network with best practices.<br>• Investigate spanning tree behaviour across the network and implement corrective measures to improve stability and reduce disruption.<br>• Analyze the layer 3 core network design and recommend improvements that support performance, resilience, and future growth.<br>• Examine the integration between the Barracuda firewall and Microsoft Azure to identify configuration or connectivity issues affecting system responsiveness.<br>• Troubleshoot slow network performance related to cloud connectivity and develop practical solutions to improve communication with Azure services.<br>• Evaluate the existing UniFi wireless access point environment and confirm it is operating efficiently within the broader network architecture.<br>• Document findings, proposed changes, and implementation recommendations clearly for internal stakeholders and technical teams.
